National initiatives under the Ministry of Education and AICTE — translated into student projects, prototypes, mentoring grants, and a campus culture where ideas reach the workshop floor.

Institution Innovation Council (IIC) — Convener

Led innovation and entrepreneurship activities under the Ministry of Education and AICTE. Coordinated national programs including SIH, YUKTI and NISP, and planned expert sessions, student activities, and institutional documentation across the IIC calendar.

YUKTI Innovation Repository — Institutional Coordinator

Coordinated the YUKTI (Young India Unleashing Knowledge & Innovation) initiative. Student projects were shortlisted for National and Regional Meets, and students presented their work before Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Government of India.

Mentor–Mentee Scheme — Coordinator (₹2.5 lakh MoE project)

Managed a Ministry of Education-funded project across multiple mentee institutions — planning mentoring sessions, review meetings, expert interactions, and monitoring progress, reporting, and outcome evaluation end-to-end.

Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) — Faculty Coordinator

Ran structured programs on innovation, robotics, and design thinking. Guided students from ideation to working prototypes — promoting an early-stage innovation and problem-solving mindset.

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) — Faculty Coordinator

Mentored and coordinated student teams on problem statements aligned with national and industry challenges — guiding them through idea development, prototyping, and presentation within SIH guidelines and timelines.

Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp

Participated in the IDE Bootcamp organised by the Ministry of Education — Innovation Cell, Government of India at IISER Bhopal. Gained direct exposure to design thinking frameworks and entrepreneurship development models.

Overview

Bringing design thinking to school benches

Hosted at the Atal Tinkering Lab of Shri Mhalsakant Vidyalaya under JSPM's RSCOE, the week-long program guided 150 students from grades 8 to 10 through ideation, design thinking, prototyping, and pitching — culminating in original student projects and motivation to enter the Smart India Hackathon.

Robotics kits, live 3D printing, and peer-review pitch sessions turned a classroom into a small-scale innovation studio for the week.

Session flow

Day by day

Day 01

Ideation & design thinking

2-hour lecture on creative problem-solving, followed by hands-on robotics kits and a live 3D-printing demo — hanging crane, floor & window cleaning robots, pick-and-place robot.

Day 02

Idea to prototype

Deeper dive into design thinking, group problem-statements, and student idea-pitching — building communication alongside engineering.

Day 03

Build, pitch, peer review

Students executed their ideas on lab equipment, presented working prototypes, and ran structured peer evaluation.

Day 04

Smart India Hackathon push

Students were motivated to enter SIH and built original projects from scratch — solar rigs, robotic arms, cardboard EV concepts.

Day 05

Review, recognition, closing

Progress review across the week, recognition of standout teams, and a closing charge to keep innovating beyond the lab.

Got the opportunity to present our students' innovative projects at the IIC Regional Meet hosted at Symbiosis International University, Pune — showcasing original ideas and working prototypes before Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Also interacted with Dr. Ajeet Singh, Western Regional Officer & Assistant Director, AICTE — along with fellow faculty members, industrialists, and dignitaries from the Government of India.

Students' Project Exhibition — sparking the innovation culture

Ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the Students' Project Exhibition at RSCOE

Faculty Co-ordinator · MESA

Organised the department-wide Students' Project Exhibition to motivate students to build, present and defend original work. A ribbon-cutting by the Director and senior faculty opened a hall full of working models — floor cleaners, mechanisms and low-cost utility projects — reviewed by faculty and industry guests.

The event seeded a year-round project-and-prototype culture that later fed directly into IIC, ATL and SIH activity on campus.
